This is an evolving area within information literacy. The appeal of videogames is a no-brainer. The potential to learn from videogames is tremendous. Unfortunately practice currently falls behind theory and there are only a few rudimentary examples of information literacy videogames.

The Library Arcade features games designed to help students develop research skills through entertaining and easy-to-repeat activities. There are two rather simplistic games from the Carnegie Mellon Libraries: one simulates retrieving the proper types of sources for students researching in a library, the other teaches shelving using Library of Congress classification.
